Oh, goodness! In a Star Trek sense, Gene Roddenberry conceived the original trio of Kirk, Spock and Bones as three parts of one perfect person: the soul, the mind, and the heart. In an older sense (ancient Rome), a Triumvirate was a group of three powerful individuals that ruled politically (kind of like how the TOS trio was basically in charge of everything, though with major assists from the rest of the main cast, and in a much less despotic manner). The idea is that they’re far better as a team than separate; three people who essentially complement each other. It’s meant to be used in a 100% wholesome way (this blog never goes beyond PG-13), and I’ve never even seen the UD definition (nor am I going to, now. I don’t want to know)!
